How to Grade Your Website Marketing Effectiveness

There are a number of ways to measure the success of your website, you’ll probably have a gut feel for it’s performance based on the interaction created, the number of enquiries and bookings you get from it (if indeed you know where the booking enquiries come from) or just based on feedback from your customers.

However for a more analytical and quick approach try the Website Grader by HubSpot (internet marketing gurus), this gives a score out of 100 for your website performance (aim for 90+) and will provide a detailed report with recommendations to improve your score.  Our blog currently scores 96! Which means:

“A website grade of 96.3/100 for www.tourismindustryblog.co.nz means that of the millions of websites that have previously been evaluated, our algorithm has calculated that this site scores higher than 96.3% of them in terms of its marketing effectiveness. The algorithm uses a proprietary blend of over 50 different variables, including search engine data , website structure, approximate traffic, site performance, and others.”

What did you score?

    Awesome tool!

    63%

Some schoolboy errors I can easily fix. Made me feel just a little bit smug that I scored better than some who shall remain nameless and also quite a lot stupid that I haven’t even got meta description (dur) or properly registered my site…all those things I lecture my clients about! Learnt lots from this. Great post, thanks.

Yes a useful tool isn’t it, and something you can use to help evaluate and improve client websites. Now just need something to grade design and text content to help clients listen to feedback 🙂
